What is the difference between your doors & hardware and the doors & hardware that I can buy at retail home improvement stores?
The main difference is in the grade of product. We sell architectural grade products which are manufactured to meet certain national standards and are acceptable products for the building industry. The retail stores are selling residential grade products for the most part. For example, the steel doors you will find in home improvement stores are commonly 24 gage or higher which is extremely thin steel. The steel doors we supply are a minimum of 18 gage which is considerably more durable.

Buying a new door is similar to any other important purchase you make. There are many different products and companies to choose the materials from. They have different models, grades, options, etc. that affect the cost similar to if you were purchasing a car or television. The installation may affect the price as well depending on the location of the door and how difficult the removal and re-installation of the new door will be. The best thing to do first is formulate a budget for your project. Call or email us to set up an appointment and let us know your budget so we can show you the products that fit.

Typically there is a label on the hinge edge of the door listing the door manufacturer, testing company, and fire rating in time
